Sometimes, it's difficult to retain it while coding and to solve it you can just use Lighthouse from Google chrome to help you with it. By constantly doing it, it will become natural i think.
Effective HTML Elements for Accessibility in Web Design
3 Comments
Solid write-up. Semantic HTML is still the most underrated accessibility tool — it costs nothing, requires no libraries, and works across every browser and assistive technology. The heading hierarchy point is especially important; I’ve seen too many sites with visually correct layouts that completely break screen reader navigation because they skipped the structural order.
One thing I’d add: focus management is just as important as labeling. If a user opens a modal or a dropdown, the focus should move to that element and return to the trigger when it closes. Without that, keyboard‑only users can end up trapped in a UI loop.
Testing with WAVE and Axe is a great habit — thanks for including that reminder. Good work.
