So, as the title says, I'm new here. So in short, who am I and what can I share with you?
My name is Nicholas, I'm from Ukraine and I'm 20 years old. I'm also a CS student, and working on some small projects, some kind of portfolio I guess.
Now a bit about what I really like. First of all it's obviously Python, I working mostly with it, but thanks to uni I also know a bit of C++, Java, JS, C# and even Assembler. Okay now really seriously, with what I really like to play:
- machine learning;
- data analysis or better say data science in general;
- web Scraping;
- automation;
- a bit of web development;
Okay, all of it is just words, so I guess I'll add here some link, maybe to my GitHub where you could find all my projects. My GitHub profile.
Now in short all my projects:
- Chess Project X. Project where I created 2 pure Python engines (matrix and bitboards) and even added Minimax bot. The next step that I planned is RL bot (I mean bot that will improve after every game and learning from his mistakes).
- Aster. A project that started as a project only for me. I just wanted to track my habits and my savings, and then it just became cool not only for me.
- Yakaboo Books Sales Analysis. I analyzed one of the biggest book retailers of Ukraine - Yakaboo. The main goal was to answer the question "Are people reading less nowadays" and in the end my data only allowed me to answer that people still read books.
- Music Genre Classification. Pure ML project, pretty easy in fact. Just took a dataset from Kaggle, used Streamlit for some user interface and librosa for music features extraction.
- Secret Santa. Maybe the easiest project. But I'll impress you, because I’ve never used Django (I've never used it before). So this project was deployed on Render and you could enter all data about the party and then get an email.
So that's a bit about me. All my projects are based on my nerdy hobbies, like reading, listening to music, chess and so on. But for me, the most important thing in programming is having fun and doing something that you can understand.
Right now I have 2 ongoing projects - Aster and Chess Project X. But my next post will be about Aster. From it I'll talk about telegram bots, streamlit, database and later about some AI stuff.
